I’m curious- Did you buy any fireworks this year? I’ve been hearing fireworks on and off for the past week, but today they have really ‘kicked it up a notch’ as Emeril may say. It seems that I’m constantly hearing a BOOM or BAM somewhere, so I’m curious to see what tonight brings.

I’m happy that we’re doing everything here tonight, but I hope to be able to sneak away sometime around midnight and reflect on the past year, plus think about the year stretched out in front of us.

It’s going to be a good one.

Happy ‘almost’ 2010.

Marcel and I have been going back and forth for a while about buying a 22 LCD TV for the guest room. We don’t want anything huge, but we want something that one of us can watch if the other is watching the main TV. I’ve been browsing a great site in the UK which compares all the prices and lets you know where you can find the best deals. Those of you who know me, know that I don’t buy anything without finding the best price available, because I figure why pay more if you don’t have to?

I definitely see a new TV on the horizon, and the great thing I love about an LCD is that you can mount it on the wall and it takes up virtually no space. Yeah!!!

I’m taking a little break fron the hooplah and preparations for our New Years Eve Bash and decided to end the year (and begin it, Lord willing) by writing in all of my little spaces. In the next few weeks, I hope to be more organized and have more time to follow the particular themes for each blog that I’d originally set out to do.

Until then- be safe and have a wonderful evening!

As we all know, now is the perfect time to buy a home if you want to buy, that is. Marcel and I have been talking for a while about moving, and a few days ago we started actually putting that plan into motion and started looking for a new home. We aren’t sure that it’s something that will happen right now, because that will also mean we’ll need to sell our place, and we all know it’s a buyers market right now and not a sellers. Even with that being said, I still find myself wanting to grab some shipping boxes and start packing little things, just in case.

The great thing is, we aren’t in a hurry to move, so we can take the process slow and if it’s meant for us to make that move, the perfect place will fall into our laps, I’m sure of it.

I don’t know about y’all, but ever since I read about the possible terrorist attempt on the plane coming from Amsterdam to Detroit, I’ve been asking myself how on earth the guy was able to get all these little components on the plane in the first place to create an explosive device. The news has made comments about how it isn’t difficult to sneak these things on board if a person really wants to get them on the plane, but I can’t help but wonder why security is getting so lax again in the first place.

I do travel, and while the fact that having to deal with extra security may not be what one would consider fun, I definitely prefer going to the airport an hour earlier to go through security than possibly being blown out of the sky by some insane extremist. What about you??

Tighten up airport security… Get with the program or is it going to take another hijacking before y’all pay attention?

Do you ever notice that when the new year rolls around that many of us start trying to get ourselves organized for the coming year? Marcel and I actually took the Christmas tree down yesterday and put everything away, and now I find myself wanting do start a deep cleaning session and get rid of anything that I haven’t used in the past year. I’ve also been thinking about updating our life insurance, because I’m not sure that our policy is as up to date as it should be.

What about you-.. now that we are knocking on the door of the new year, what do you find yourself wanting to change?

A MERRY Little Christmas!!!..

For the first time in my life- I woke up to a white Christmas. It started a little after midnight last night, and snowed all night and into the early morning. I woke up many times during the night, would have a peek outside, and then would smile and go back to sleep. This morning I woke up to a winter wonderland. It started raining not too long after that, but I don’t mind. I have my white Christmas. :)

Merry Christmas each and every one of you!

Several days ago I was out walking in the snow. I wanted to go to the store to pick up some milk, and Marcel was working so I walked. Unfortunately, the sidewalks weren’t cleared and I started daydreaming, which led to me falling flat on the ice. So much for my lovely Timberlands keeping my feet planted firmly on the ground.

I was fine, ended up with a few bruises, but nothing major. There was a lady walking by at the time, and rather than asking me if I was ok, she commented that rather than walking on the sidewalk (where I was supposed to be walking) that I should have been walking on the side of the street, because they were ‘clean’. I just looked at her, made a comment about it being slippery on the sidewalk, brushed myself off and continued on my way. I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t break my leg.

You are going to think this is crazy in its own rights, but I’ve been so busy that I haven’t watched the news in days. It could even be weeks. I do grab a little local news every once in a while, but for the most part, I’ve been the proverbial ostrich with my head in the sand. I guess it’s no wonder I feel a little out of the loop and lost on all aspects of life.

As soon as the holidays are over and the tree has been undecked and all that jazz, I’m going to start helping a friend find a business plan consultant to see if we can get their new business idea off the ground. It’s an exciting time for them, and I’m honored that they want me to be a part of it. Can’t really go into the details, since it’s not my pending project, but it could be huge.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
