Even though it may appear as though I’ve been hiding under a rock- nothing could be further from the truth. I’ve been spending some time jet setting to other parts of the world- exploring and loving this new chapter of life I’ve entered- the 5.0 version of me. It is taking a little adjusting, as I’ve found myself shifting my priorities naturally, but I know that this is going to be the best year of my life. Many magical things are about to happen, so I’m bracing myself at what is going to be a beautiful ride.

Will it be perfect? Of course not- but the great thing is- I love learning along the way.

In the meantime- I’m kicking off the weekend with an exciting night of ‘home alone’ – a date with two of my favorite guys- Ben and Jerry, plus the latest episode of Nashville.

What’s your plan?

Is anyone else reeling with the idea that tomorrow is May 1st? I am, seriously! In two short months I’ll be heading to London with my BFF of 35 years and I’m looking forward to that so much. We have a chat date planned to catch up on everything today- To make our reservations for various places we haven’t made a reservation for yet- So much fun- can’t wait.

I’m happy to report that things are finally getting better with Marcel’s eczema and he’s no longer itchy scratchy and miserable. It was really bad so he’s technically still healing, but his skin looks much, much better. He’s also resting better and in better spirits all together. This is a good thing overall.

I’m dealing with some sort of little sudden illness that came on yesterday and left me unable to do much of anything. Im extremely weak so I’m pretty much couch ridden until my energy returns and I start feeling better.

Things have been somewhat busy around here (before getting sick halted me) but still haven’t quite beat (if that’s possible) the carpal tunnel I’ve been dealing with. This has meant less computer time and that has meant less research on things like the miller welders and tablet comparisons- both of which are requests from mom.

In spite of the little things- life is good.

Well, I hope this is the last of the stalker updates. I suddenly started getting 5-10 emails from him daily after asking him to leave me alone, so now I’ve blocked his emails from reaching me and clogging my mailbox. Some people maybe amused by such attention. Or even flattered, but I’m not even remotely amused or flattered. Hopefully this will be the end of it for good.

Marcel called me a couple of nights ago when he got to work to let me know that his scooter had stopped running just outside where he needed to park and he wasn’t sure what the problem was.

He left it at work and had someone bring him home and yesterday walked to work to pick it up. Bu the time he got back from pushing it all the way home, he was beat.

Since he’s been looking at the zumo 665 for a little while now, think when I get the chance I’ll surprise him with it. Maybe that will cheer him up a bit.

In the midst of my little Facebook hiatus and having some extra time to think and work through various things, I’ve really been thinking about how fragile life is. We really don’t know what will happen from one moment to the next, and I’m learning the importance of letting things that are less than meaningful go, plus thinking we need to be prepared with things like having term life insurance quickly because the only guarantee in life is that there are none. I’ve been going through our policies in the midst of organizing and see that we aren’t as covered as we should be. The great thing is- we have the power to change it and we will.

Months ago a friend told me about this little site called Pinterest and I thought it looked like fun. She sent me an invite and I was thrilled at some of the recipes and home ideas on there.

Since then the sites popularity has exploded and its a place that I literally could spend hours upon hours.

Several days ago I was at Wal-Mart getting my prescriptions filled and I got a little light headed. I was standing at the check out and started seeing spots. I handed mom my wallet and found the nearest bench. I put my head between my legs and stayed that way til mom came my way.

While we were there a lady stopped to ask if I was ok. A little while later I made my way to the entry way and sat on a bench while she got the car. People passed in droves but there were only two men who asked if I was ok. One was young and the other an elderly man. It surprised me at just how much people don’t want to get involved these days. I have to say that I am grateful to those who cared enough to ask.

I read an article this morning that Lady Gaga wore a dress made out of raw meat to the recent MTV music awards.

Apparently there are actually people who want to follow in her footsteps and wear one for Halloween but butchers are warning that the meat could only be worn for three hours and would then turn wet and stinky.

The Lady Gaga version of the dress was around $1,000.00 and all I can say is Seriously? I need to look into this further to see if there was a particular reason or if it was for the attention factor. Personally, the thought turns my stomach.
